The Institute will be having a workshop on June 25th - 26th,2018 on Applied Leadership and Management.
 
Goal: The overarching goal of the workshop is to help enhance the workforce capacity and competence of current and future leaders and managers relevant to their efforts and activities for continuous quality improvement for ongoing operations as well as a component of emergency planning and preparedness.
 
Content: The workshop sessions will consist of lectures and facilitated discussions beginning with fundamental principles of leadership and management followed by more applied and practical topics, including internal and external communication approaches and strategies; assessment and comparison of organizational structures; incidents and incident command, emergency management, etc
 
Competencies: Upon Completion of the workshop and related assigned readings, participants will be better prepared to : 
 
1. Apply fundamental principles of leadership and management to individual and multidisciplinary activities and operations; 
 
2. Communicate more effectively across divisions and departments internally, as well as, externally with policy-makers and community stakeholders;
 
3. Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the current organizational structure and discuss strengths, critical gaps and suggested modifications; 
 
4. Evaluate and implement an incident command system for emergency management
