The delegation from the Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU) on Wednesday 27th June 2018 visited the Institute in view of learning more about the Insitute wth focus on CENTRE FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS (CSTI).

 

CSTI is a registered Trust as a  project of the Kenya National Academy of Sciences but is housed at the University of Nairobi’s Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation (ICCA).  CSTI focuses on community outreach and adaptation of environmental related technologies as well as hazard prevention/risk mitigation. We have conducted research on microscience for chemistry teaching, enhancing resilience to climate change in Sakai, Mbooni East, highland malaria in East Africa and others outlined in our website: www.csti.or.ke

 

During the brief visit they explained the human safety challenges posed by Climate Change, how biotechnology is being used to improve security (food, raw materials, traceability, toxicity reduction, protection of national monuments and cultural heritage).
