CLIMATE RESILIENCE ROADSHOW OCTOBER 2018 -KENYA

Printer-friendly version

As we are nearing the entry into force of the Paris Agreement, another UN Climate Summit is coming up in 2019; that will include a major focus on adaptation and resilience. Developing country governments are getting increasingly concerned about these challenges domestically.

The time is right to take stock on what is working and what is not in building resilience and enhancing adaptation to climate change and to ask ourselves what needs to change on the ground in order to move beyond challenges and scale up successes.

To answer these questions,  The Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation(ICCA)  collaborated with Red Cross and held an open discussion where practitioners, students, academia and government representatives had an open discussion on the challenges that governments are facing in meeting their international obligations that are aimed at strengthening resilience. The forum had technical experts engaging in panel discussions borrowing from previous case studies followed by interactive and provocative conversations with the audience.
