Dr George Odera-Outa is a ‘multi-discipline’ scholar currently based at the Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation, University of Nairobi where he is the thematic head for ‘Policy and Communication.’ Outa is a Law graduate of the University of London (UK) and the University of California-Hastings (USA) and earlier, a ‘Tothil Prestige Scholar’ at the University of the Witwatersrand, (South Africa) where he also received a PhD degree in Literature. For over fifteen years Outa served in various advisory capacities in and outside Kenya under UNDPs various recruitment modalities; was Communications and External Relations advisor for the global Sustainable Blue Economy Secretariat (SBEC 2018) as well as for the sixth session of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI). Outa has taught and examined a wide range of courses at the University of Nairobi since 1988 and is the recipient of various prestigious awards, among them, the St Andrews (UK) Prize for the Environment (2001) and the Governance in East Africa Research Awards (1993). He has consulted for a number of blue chip companies and international organizations operating in Kenya and Africa at large
